SOMETHING  INTERSTING Man, something interesting would be how we had visitors from another country , but not the ordinary country. I'm talking about Japan! ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต Santa Maria had exchange students from Japan, but they visited Pioneer HighSchool unfortunately. Either way I think it's so awesome to see people from another country visiting your country, city, and school and see what they like to do,eat, wear, etc. I thought that was something interesting ๐Ÿ™‚
JIMMY SANTIAGO BACA: OPPRESSION This poem he wrote is truly thought provoking. All the specific diction he uses to catch our attention and all the connections he makes with us by using "brothers and sisters" to us being endure. Also he uses examples of nice days and compares it to like something bad like a prison for example or cell . Overall, the poem was about peoples feelings I would say and how some feel oppressed, I guess. That's my intake on Oppression.
SO I GUESS THIS IS MY SPEECH  Discrimination begins war. And war begins chaos.  It has been 71 years since WWII, and it seems like we're about to begin WWIII. It is insane to think that his is the end of our President and a new modern era to be experienced. This new election has caused major controversies from insulting Mexicans to Muslims and many other important topics that were very harsh, but this wasn't all nominees running, it was an amateur, yours truly, Donald Trump. It has amazed me, truly, to believe that citizens have voted for a fool. What about Emerson's ideas and quotes? "Don't follow the crowd, follow your own thoughts and ideas." Which in this case the results show people following the wave and not what truly believe. What about "A Sound of Thunder" ? Do you want to end up like Eckels, gone? Because of a "stupid mistake" that forced you to make a drastic difference. Like Gandhi, himself said " You must be the change y
MY MAD DREAM OF AN ESSAY Remember that time you ate that spicy SOUP just before you went to bed on the night before the big             CELEBRATION? On, that weird dream you had about the 2016 presidential election. When you woke up you couldn't quite remember the STRIKING details, but after reading "On Selc-Reliance" and "A Sojnd of Thunder" it's all coming back to you now. The dream started badly. You were in line with your family at an AIRPORT waiting to be sent to THE MOST DANGEROUS COUNTRY. Every where you looked there were posters of president-elect THE WHITE KANYE, looking like a crazy WOLF who could eat a whole STEAK. Suddenly, there was Ralph Waldo Emerson telling you, " MAN IS HIS OWN STAR." You realized that you have something to contribute to the world so you decided to SPEAK But it wasn't easy. First you had to put on a fancy BLOUSE and DRESSING PANTS and then you had made a PROMISE to go back in time to the CONVENTION CENTER
TABLE DISCUSSION  Tone: serious and pessimistic  Theme: expectations v reality as well as Jessica's opinion  Mood: would be the same as tone that's what I feel but some hope as well  Devices: some devices he uses are similes, a lot of metaphors and imagery  Something I took away from our group discussion was how we all had similar and different thoughts of why he was writing this and what was the purpose for the reader to get out of like why was it pov of a man I jail and and him expressing how people from his background would be working hard and having ups and downs as well as him . That's what I took out of our discussion.
LIT ANALYSIS #3: The Book Thief  1. I would summarize the plot of this incredible novel by stating it centers Liesel Meminger, a ten year old living in Germany during WWII. Liesel experiences are narrated by DEATH, who describes both  the beauty and destruction of life in this era. 2. The themes of the novel would be Mortality,Language,Reading,&Writing, and finally Love.  Mortality, is one because it's introduced by the character/narrator DEATH,which underlines that mortality is present in the lives of each character. Lets take note this novel took place during WWII which represents mortality significantly. Lang.,reading,&writing. These 3 things are themes as well because each symbolizes the expression of freedom throughout the story. As symbolic elements it provides liberation and identity to the characters who are able to wield their power.Lang.,reading,& writing also serve as social marks. For example, the wealthy citizens in the story are portrayed as owning their
MY VIGNETTE "Some people say he's a b*tch. Which is unfair to state. You see him react to the paparazzi violently, but there might be a reason... but, to others he's a true genius. From capturing us with the wise words he says, to the significance of his lyrics.Which is showing logical ideas right? Honesty has always been said is important, correct? Isn't that what he does? He's honest and speaks his mind.I was inspired by an influential man, Kanye West."
EMERSONS CHILD    It's the day after Election Day, I saw the enviroment and felt it, it was unusual, the only thing that came out of peoples conversations was the new Elected President. The same enviroment, earlier I witnessed was what sparked this ridiculous election. It's surreal to see how I have came back and witness how this Election is breaking this unity of one race apart and beginning a whole new war against each other because of race, color, gender, etc. that has lived on even to this day.   Has the wise words, presented way back when, not attract the thinking of you, as an individual ? This election has caused individuals to follow societies rules. Some examples would be, having this new elected President with his negative commentary on specific people, making it okay for other people to do it as well since he's the President know I could do what he does. No, that is not what I have proclaimed to get out and reach those thoughtful people.Never follow society especia
AN EARTH'S SHATTERING FART  Lets just say, this short story was very intriguing. It reminded me of Jurassic Park movies, a lot. The fact they had people paying to go hunt old creatures like dinosaurs, but in this case used, time machines to go back years, decades was even better than the film.It was much like a movie, to me. I was able to picture all of the syntax used from this story. But the most fascinating parts of the story was when Eckels panicked and stepped out of the path which they told him not to do, and he said he olny stepped on mud and said it was nothing.Later on, to now that he had stepped on a butterfly, which caused the time period they live in drastically changed.Lastly, he ends up getting shot by his guide. What a way to end a story huu? man so well written in my opinion. What did you think about this short story?

EMERSON PRESENTATIONS DAY Well what can I say the presentations were interesting, but overall the one that caught my attention was Cesar's http://cayusosmhs18.blogspot.com/  presentation because his was diffrent from the rest and I thought it was unique using "geniuses" of what he believed was a genius.Anywho, lets get started on today's presentations. Lesley: Interpreted it by using 21 Pilots comparing it to Emerson's essay * blurry face and vessel  albums she used * lane boy: people telling you what to do, but we have to ignore and just "stay in our lane" * stressed out:people saying things, but we got to keep on moving and not let it get to our minds * we don't believe whats on t.v.: which is because not everything is true in real life *** SOMETHING YOU WANT US TO REMEMBER*** BE SELF-RELIANT, EVEN THOUGH SHE SOES NOT AGREE WITH EMERSON Samary: made a poster; mostly quotes * " melchony ...." quote caught her attention * opi
PRESEDENTIAL ELECTION   What can I say this is self explanatory because we have two candidates that want to " make America great again" which is very ironic to say. This election is going to define our nations future by having a liar that juged certain ethnicities and in the other hand we have a fool making exagererated plans to "make America great again"which sucks, honetly, because I don't see a good future with any of these candidates, but if we take a second a sink in our mind that we have no other choice but to vote for Hillary than the other one because this vote MATTERS and if we don't vote people are voting for your future. The future depends on our generation to make a change.
EMERSON FOR THE YOUNG BUCK  Something I've learned or made sense out of, is how he states,us, humans are self-conscious and remorsefull on things we do or say. Also to add to that, we have a problem with society pressuring us, in a way that society will judge us diffrently or say things about one. Which leads, by him stating that we need to ignore socities commentary and ideas and be ourselves, not something we truly aren't.But, if I could sum up his purpose about On Self-Reliance it would be three points. 1. Self-reliance with one self.  2. Self-Reliance with Society  3. Promotion of Self-Reliance as an idea. These are the three ideas I believe, because his whole essay is about us trying to be moved on how we need to stop worrying about what society has to say toward ourselves. Also being dependent with oursleves, so us  trusting ourself and not ignoring our thoughts and ideas. Make our ideas/thoughts realize and take them in consideration.Lastly having this as an idea. So lik
EMERSON SAID IT I'll start of by mentioning my peer's name I refrenced the quote from.  Cerenity: " Ne te quaesiveris extra" what this means is " Do not seek outside yourself " or in other words, " Look within". His main arguement is that us, human beings need to rely on themselves (their ideas), follow their instincts, and refrain from allowing society's norms and ideas get to us.This came up by her, starting off our socratic seminar and sharing a quote that really caught her attention, drastically.  Paloma: " What I must do is all that concerns me, not what the people think." His main arguement is the exhibition of how their is individualsim and self-trust among ourselves and how we find it irrelevant of what people may think or say. This came up by her adding on to someone else comment that connects why we shouldn't bother what people opinions or commentary are.   Gabriel: " Man is timid and apologetic; he is

My mood right now! ๐Ÿ˜ฉMan this day was going well until practice was around its corner. Sometimes you're good and sometimes your bad, and for me was ending up bad which sucks because you reflect back on it and can't stop thinking about it, and it forbids you from continuing your activity you are doing/suppose to be doing. Anywho, who's ready for our analyzation on Emerson?๐Ÿค”
WHAT A COINCIDENCE  Reflecting on these past days and discussing about Emerson's writing has really caught my attention of all the allusions, metaphors, similes, etc. he uses. Besides his writing there was one thing that I do firmly remember, we had a disccusion about us needing teachers, and we could do mnmit on our own and get some assistance from peers. I realized that sometimes you do need your teacher! This situation accured yesterday and the day before. We did not have the assistence of our physics teacher and I really did need his assistance on our project we had a had questions, many if I could say. I dont know if any one has any fimiliar situation.
SOMETHING INTERSTING ABOUT MY BOOK  Something interesting about my book is that this novel is a thriller which means there is a lot of suspense. A little bit of background about this novel is it's about an alcoholic women pinned on her ex-husband because of their divorce and how he has a new wife and a baby. She rides the train everyday to London and suddenly gets  obsessed with a "perfect couple" she sees everyday when riding the train. ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿค”
WHAT NOVEL  IS NEXT?๐Ÿค”  The next book I'll be reading is a thriller novel. I'll be reading The Girl on the Train   pretty excited, what book will you be reading?๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Late Night Thoughts๐Ÿ’ญ with Leydi Rios  (hint hint, Jimmy Fallon show๐Ÿ˜Ž) This picture made me realize of how real, it is looking at the sky with the sunshine illuminating, and how beautiful nature is. Also the fact that I feel alive by taking captivating pictures of  anything that resembles calmness and gratifying to look back at. Sometimes I wonder if people look at the world in a different perspective? Like do they realize that this world is made up of astonishing things, people, culture, everything and in any way make them feel alive. MY AMERICAN VOICE I believe speaking up is INDEED important. Us people, that speak up are the voice of those who are being mistreated, insulted, put down, anything along those lines. People who speak up are a sign that we care about other people that are being hurt emotionally,or physically. In my view of speaking up I would say I show a diffrent person than usual. I show anger, loudness, and explicit wording that I use. I'll speak up for anyone who's being hurt physically or emotionally. Its always good to speak up but not in certain cases. For example during our Labor Day weekend my parents and I took a trip to LA and visit family. We always make stops at liquor stores and grab some snacks and drinkson the way, that day we arrived to LA and went to a liquor store,we were ready to pay and we were waiting in line. Infront of us were young men, colored men. I noticed they were buying liquor under age without I.D's and one of them,on the left sneakingly stole some device to smoke

TEAMVOCAB This presidential election has TRANSFORMED omy into a battle, with VENOMOUS  attacks from both AGGRAVATING parties. Hilary has remained STOLID in my opinion, and I really want to punch Trump in the PROBOSCIS. His supporters have slowly DISSOLVED and the ones who have remained are HYPNOTIZED into believing America will be great again. This is a MELANCHOLY moment in American history because soon one of these candidates will be President. I EARNESTLY believe that neither candidates should be elogiable for presidency. Donal trumps ideologies on all his ideas make my CAPILLARIES boil and make me want to hit myself on a FRINGE of a desk.

LIT ANALYSIS TheCage   by Ruth Minsky Sender Theme: The theme of this novel is willingness to sacrifice for others. Very thought provoking. Tone: The tone of The Cage is first person point of view but I would add to that by saying is how Riva (main character) has HATE toward the Nazis. Plot: The plot takes place in Germany during World War II. She was separated from her mother and older siblings when the Nazis captured them and sent the to concentration camps. Additionally, she got ill and was taken by nazis soldiers too many hospitals but none of them would assist her because she was Jewish. Continuously, Riva meet a doctor that helped her how to write and that is how she got her emotions out in paper by writing all the sacrifices her younger brothers made for her . Syntax: Sender's combination on her language usage would be very expressive and emotional thought provoking . Characterization: Riva Minsky is the main character, thirteen years
TODAY I'M A GOOD HUMAN I am not sure if this has to be a recent action we have done, but I can't think of a recent "good human being" action. One thing that I do remember that is a "good human being" action that I did was as follows: My parents and I were at a market, La Chiquita. We were grocery shopping. When we were finished we  exited out the store and I found money on the floor but I looked around to see if anyone was around and I noticed  a women was walking ahead of  us,like 10ft away from us and I jogged to her to tell her her money dropped and she thanked me.  It felt awesome  to give her money back and not keep it, like some people may do. I believe that the little things you do are the most valuable ones you'll remember.  Let's just say, humbleness is ๐Ÿ”‘ * Dj Khaled voice *
ESSAY 1 REVISED After reading my colleagues' work and sharing ideas, I realized I could improve my first essay by adding key ideas I was missing. Let's get started!    Who wouldn't want love, affection, and happiness with personal relations. I completely agree with E.M. Forster's ideology on personal relations because people will have better communication skills, have a healthy, long-lasting life spand, and happiness in their life.      To continue, I believe that E.M. Forester's view is a firm assertion. For example, having a good bond with family,friends,co-workers,managers,etc. leads to very good communication skills that show interest in one another, and importance of what personal relations lead too. To add to this, people that do not have good communication skills tend to show negative results leading to sickness and unhappiness. Other than, having good communication skills we also have a long-lasting life spand. To back this up, I use my family as an example,

Stolid: (of a person) calm, dependable, and showing little emotion or animation.  Ex: The boy was very stolid when eating his icecream.  3. Hypnotized:  produce a state of hypnosis in (someone)  Ex: The magician hypnotized the rabbit for one of his magic tricks.  4. Suspended:  temporarily prevent from continuing or being in force or effect:  Ex: The officer was suspended for violation of officer rules.  5. Transformed:  make a thorough or dramatic change in the form, appearance, or character of:  Ex: The company was transformed into a social atmosphere.  6.Accuse: charge (someone) with an offense or crime:  Ex: He was accused of stealing something from a grocery market.  7. A HUG IS NEARLY A GUN SPELLED BACKWARDS I completely agree with E.M. Foster's view because people will have a healthy, long-lasting life. I also think people are responsible for achieving these purposes.   I believe that E.M. Foster's view is a firm assertion. For instance, studies show that if we have personal relations we have a chance of having a healthy,long-lasting life spand. To add to that, studies have also shown people with no personal relations have a higher chance to catch a cold or flu and feel unhealthy.Other than, having a healthy and long-lasting life people also have better communication skills. Such as, people working together as a team and showing teamwork efforts. Also, understanding, suggesting, one another is a key idea of people improving their communication skills and having  better relations. Lastly, listening to gain full meaning of one another is the most important communication skill, people improve and learn from these personal relations.  Becaus
WHEN LOGIC FAILS My ten favorite logic fallacies are as listed: Argumentum ad antiquitatem  Ex: " Every civilization of history has had unequal rights toward slaves" (talking politics) Argumentum ad hominem  Ex: White people wanting lower taxes. Argumentum ad ignorantiam Ex: " The search has not provided enough evidence he stole the watch." Argumentum ad logician  Ex: The girl thinks " makeup is good because many people use it to look better ", but its clearly false because in reality people will judge you with or without makeup on and say you're ugly or pretty. Argumentum ad misericondian  Ex: " Think of all the Jewish children and elderly, how could you slaughter them with no pity!" Argumentum ad nauseam  Ex: " Hitting people is wrong,is wrong,is wrong ." Argumentum ad numeric Ex: "70% of Americans love Mexicans" well maybe 70% of Americans don't love Mexicans. Argumentum ad populum  Ex: " 80% o

MY GOALS To start off, I have many goals in life. So many that sometimes I wonder do you really think you can become that,do that, or change that. One thing is, everything is possible and if you set your goals you can achieve those goals. My peers and I have a high standard mentality of what we want or will achieve.and this is so unique to me. This is because you will not always run into a sixteen year old stating his/her life goals. I continue by saying, my goals for this school year and not just my AP English class is to be more open minded and think of my classes as something else. Not just "ohh great  this class" but view my class and learnings with a diffrent perspective that nobody would see it that way. I also want to achieve in getting a 4.0 g.p.a. or higher to recompense myself and my parents of how hard and dedicated I have put in all my courses. In addition, I have always wanted to create my own organization to help those in need of clothes or fo
IM HAVING THE TIME OF MY LIFE To begin with,I just want to clarify that each and everyone of us are occupied human beings and it is  a cool way to reflect how many hours we SELL,GIVE,SPEND,and PASS time on our day to day basis life routine. Well, my selling time would be coming to school for seven hours. Continuing, my giving time would be spending time with my parents on the weekends and go out.Another example of giving time would be hanging out with my friends and go watch a movie or go shopping. My spending time is playing soccer. I love playing it,but hate running. I would add to that by saying I love taking pictures of interesting, adventurious, calming places, things or monuments. Lastly, my passing time would be sleeping if that counts, only time I get to relax . These are my time investments, total of twenty-one hours. How are you having the time of your life ? :)

BAD WORDS I believe that things that make a word bad wouldn't always be "bad" words. I'm saying this because not all the time will we use "bad" words to make a word awful ,but we use diffrent types of words that are awful  besides  "bad" words. For example, let's say I was a bully, and I was bullying my prey. One thing I would do is insult him/her in a negative way,but using diffrent words that are not "bad"words like; fat, ugly, worthless, trash, etc. This  would be a way to show other examples of bad words. I also believe it is important to reinforce in social values because we  use many "bad" words everyday that it might be a way we express it in a good or bad way. I think the idea of good/bad words usage with people increase because we get to fimilarize common ideas we share by using good and "bad" words but mostly good I would say in my part. I would say an appropriate use

Early 2000's was one of our most appalling setting, which was September 11,2001 known as 9/11. Since then, us, citizens have portrayed Muslim beings as "terrorist". Continuously, we keep on judging them on apparel, religion, and atrocious people to this day. Why is that you may ask? Is it because of 9/11, Osama Bin Laden, or the San Bernardino attack? Well one thing is for sure I don't have the answer to those questions. One thing I do know is we as citizens of the United States of America need to keep our Muslims, not send them back to their country. Our proposal to fix this crucial crisis would be the following: We should all wear hijab

This book is about a teenager, named Elie Wiesel born in the  town Sighet,Transylvania. His family was taken from their home in 1944 to the Auchwitz concentration camp, and then to the Buchenwald. After that tragedy begins. 2. The theme would be universal and fundamental ideas. FAITH would be Wiesel's dominant conflict . 3. I would say Wiesel's mornings would be very ceasing. By that I mean not having the ability to keep on going. His morning routine would be wake up early and work for the "evil men". I would also add to that while they are working their life's out there, there was a chance they would get executed for no reason, for the pleasure of violently taking a life away. An excerpt that follows with him ceasing would be where he questions himself; " I am not convinced. I don't know how I survived; I was weak, rather shy; I did nothin

simplypsychology.org  This website and image both caught my attention of my big question stereotyping .
"A Modest Proposal "  I think the criteria for satire in "A Modest Proposal " would be indeed true and how he inspects how the people that are laborers, servants, slaves, babes need to have some type of feeding process especially the babes,as he stated. I also believe that the tone of him expressing his feelings would be frustrating because he claims that" the way these begging mothers and children will live like this if they don't make a change", but he says it in a feeling of his own. These would be one of my high key observations of his attitude towards satire.
Eveything's Amazing   By analyzing Louis CK's riff tells me many things of what he is trying to show us. For instance,us human beings are now in the 21st century, but to this day all we do is COMPLAIN and OVER EXAGGERATE about events or situations. I also believe he is trying to tell us that we being in the 21st century have it easy, by that I mean having cellular phones, wifi, etc.Which in his case was nothing like that I'm assuming. This all concludes too, us always being satire and just going on and on and on.
My three satire sources I believe are satire would be the following: TV&Flim, Music, & Politics.  I think that TV&Film is satire because there is a show named "Family Guy" which shows how much humor, exaggeration, and beyond which demonstrates that it is satire. Music to me is also satire. One reason for that is because artists mean things but add exaggeration, vices, exposures and many other ideas. An example of this would be, Eminem with his satirical lyrics. Lastly, I saved the best for last, Politics. I believe politics is another example of satire because there's one politician in particular who really over does it by critizing people, making humor out of races, etc. For example Donald Trump would be the correct candidate for this statement.

The Right To Your Opinion         (from Crimes Against Logic by Jaime Whyte) Jaime Whyte author of this incerpt if i could say, has opened my mind,of the way he expresses his thoughts of our rights. I noticed he is very open minded of this subject. I also acknowledged the fact of knowing our rights and if our opinion matters to others. One key thing I noticed is that people don't want to know the truth . On the other hand, there are people that like to know the truth  and know the errors they have made. Lastly, your opinion is always false or not true.
